Amanda Mansell has been a designer-maker in Hatton Garden for over two decades. She started out in the early 2000s and opened her own studio-shop on the street in 2016, where she still works today.
The bread and butter is bespoke: engagement rings, wedding bands and personal heirlooms, each one handcrafted in gold, platinum and ethically sourced diamonds. Amanda works directly with clients rather than across a counter, so a commission usually starts with a consultation, a conversation about materials, and a clear sense of the craft behind the piece. Sentimental details and personal stories often find their way in.
She is a member of the Goldsmiths' Company and her work has shown in exhibitions. The studio is a quieter, design-led alternative to the high-street chains, and a good deal of her business comes from returning clients who keep coming back.
